YAMBA

The bright coast

Built around the signature note of Australian lemon myrtle. Citrus lifted with bergamot, cooled with eucalyptus, warmed underneath with cedarwood.

The town I grew up in, at the mouth of the Clarence River, where eleven beaches sit inside one postcode and the light comes off the water all morning. This is the smell of windows open and the day still ahead of it.

Citrus-forward and clean-finishing, warmed underneath so it never reads as sharp. Made for the rooms people walk into.

MACLEAN

The river bend

Eucalyptus and tea tree, lifted with citrus.

Upriver from Yamba, where the Clarence narrows and the cane comes down to the water. Tea tree country. Green, wet, and clean-smelling after rain.

Cooler and sharper than Yamba, with the clarity of tea tree running underneath. Made for the rooms that need to feel properly clean.

ILUKA

The wooded coast

Sandalwood. Salt. Green shade.

Across the water from Yamba, where the rainforest comes down to meet the river. Cooler than the beach and quieter than the town. The kind of place you find by accident and remember for years.

Sandalwood-led and soft on the skin, with salt and something green underneath. Made for the end of the day rather than the start of it.

HOW WE MAKE THEM

Note by note, with a fragrance artisan, until they smell like the place.

Some of what we build is drawn from the plant itself. Some is composed to capture a note the coast gives us but a bottle can't hold, or can't hold for long. Lemon myrtle is the clearest example: its brightness is famously fleeting, so we build toward it rather than simply pouring it in.

That's the craft of it. What matters to us is that the smell is true, not that every note arrived the same way.
